Options to expect during Covid-19
Here’s the deal. With the presence of COVID-19 in La Crosse County, and in the interest of protecting our community, we are now reminding you we offer online therapy in addition to in-person appointments. This will be temporary for some, while some of you have always found telehealth sessions more convenient to your life situation.
If you haven’t attended a telehealth session before this, our video conferencing software is secure and HIPAA-compliant. And easy. Really! If you have always used telehealth appointments you will not notice a change.
Nuts and bolts
You will receive an email with a link to our secure platform prior to your scheduled appointment and/or immediately before the scheduled appointment. If you plan to use your smartphone, you will be prompted to download an app first. If you like lots of information, check out this step-by-step guide.
To increase the effectiveness of your counseling session, create a quiet, safe and comfortable spot so you can concentrate on your goals without distractions.
- Find a private location in your home or parked car
- Use a chair or couch which will be comfortable for about 50 minutes
- Grab some coffee, tea, water, tissues, a sweater or blanket – whatever allows you to settle in
- Clear your space of distractions so you don’t get the urge to multitask
- Use headphones or earbuds if you would like to prevent others from hearing your counselor’s voice
- Run a fan by the door for some white noise if you are concerned about being overheard
We’re committed to continuing care and helping you reach your therapy goals.
Let us know if you have any questions, and keep washing those hands!
